Description

What to do with a special present of a Florida summer night having clear skies? Well ... go for the known brighter targets, since the chance of having one night only is very very high. Since I was not completely happy with my last try on M27 I chose it for the night. Getting all the gear setup from scratch (since in the summer time I get everything inside) and hope that there will be no pop up shower or even thunderstorm. The forecast was good, but I do not trust those enough, hence i stayed up as long as possible, watching the radar closely. All went well, here the result. Summer nights are on top of it short, hence not an exorbitant integration time, but I think for M27 quite enough.
A comparison image with my 2020 try is shown in version C. I am actually liking it better now, yes, I think that the new image is better (especially the stars), but that seems to be more a processing advantage than the data themselves. I will try to integrate the old and the new data, let's see if this will work. If it does it will be version D 😊.

Title: Reprocessed from scratch for the core

Description: As mentioned in several comments, and also my view, the core of the original image just did not reveal enough details. This was caused mainly to the dominant OIII channel (when can you say that 😊) suppressing the Hα contributions. Hence I went back to the raw stacked images and stretched the Hα channel much more than the OIII. As expected, the core came out better, while the surrounding wings dimmed down. I composed an image out of the original and newly created one and this is the result.
